Howard Tipton - Varsity Head Coach
Howard Tipton is a retired firefighter/EMT-P and currently serves as student pastor at Living Hope Baptist Church College Station. This is his 6th year coaching and is blessed to be a part of this football program. He has a wonderful wife of 29 years and 5 wonderful children.
Jay Dooley - Assistant Varsity Coach
Jay Dooley was born in Bryan, Texas. He runs a Culvert Supply business that he started with his Dad over 25 years ago. He is married to the love of his life Danielle for almost 21 years and they have 3 boys PJ, Caden and John. They live on a Cattle farm north of town where they also raise chickens, hogs and game birds. The Dooley’s currently attend Westminster Presbyterian Church in College Station and have been a part of the Brazos Valley Mustang family for 7 years.
Michael Jackson - Assistant Varsity Coach
Michael was raised in Levita, TX on a hog farm about 10 miles northwest of Gatesville. While growing up there he was exposed to the value of hard work and the joys of 6-man football. After graduating high school he accepted Christ as his personal savior before heading to attend Texas A&M in the fall of 1987 and pursued a degree in Kinesiology hoping to be a football coach. The summer of his senior year he took a job at a Christian Sports camp in New Braunfels called T Bar M where he met and instantly fell in love with a fellow counselor named Julie who he would later marry in the fall of 1992. They have 3 children, Caleb, Dorothy and Seth, all of which are homeschooled and have participated in various BVCHEA sports programs over the years.
Sherman Zimmerman - Assistant Varsity Coach
Sherman has a long, successful resume of coaching middle school and high school football for over 40 years in the Houston and Dallas areas. He grated films for the Dallas Cowboys for four years. He has been a wealth of know-ledge to the Mustangs coaching staff. This is his 4th year with the Mustangs.
Josh Tipton - Assistant Varsity Coach
Josh is a student at Blinn pursuing a degree in education and kinesiology. He played for the Mustangs for 6 years and is glad to give back to the program. This is his 2nd year of helping coach. His goal is to teach and coach football as a career. When not watching football he enjoys listening to music and playing guitar.
Jeff Pote - Head Junior High Coach
Jeff was born in Metarie, Louisiana but grew up in Sugarland, TX. After graduating from Texas A&M, he taught and coached middle school in Corpus Christi for 10 years. He and his family then moved to San Antonio where he was the athletic coordinator and coach for middle schools in that area for 10 years. The family then moved to College Station so that Jeff could serve as the Athletic Director/Head Coach for Richards ISD. Last year, he decided it was time he had a chance to coach his own children, so he transferred to Ross Elementary here in Bryan ISD freeing up his evenings to coach Jake and Charlie.
